Understanding Behaviour, Supporting Change
I’m Lydia, a qualified animal behaviourist.
I provide evidence-based behaviour support for dogs and companion animals, with a particular interest in those who have been rescued or rehomed.
I work with caregivers, veterinary professionals and rescue organisations to understand behaviour, improve welfare and support lasting positive change.
What can I help with?
Based in Olney, Buckinghamshire, I offer both in-person and online behaviour consultations to support caregivers wherever they are. While dogs make up the majority of my caseload, I also provide behaviour support for cats, small animals and other companion animals.
I commonly support animals experiencing:
Fear, anxiety and stress-related behaviours
Reactivity and aggression
Separation-related behaviours
Resource guarding
Handling and veterinary-related concerns
Multi-animal household conflict
Noise sensitivities and phobias
Difficulties adjusting after rescue or rehoming
A significant proportion of my work involves supporting rescued and rehomed animals as they adapt to new homes, routines and relationships.
How does it work?
1. Get in Touch
Tell me a little about your animal and the challenges you're experiencing. I'll help determine the most appropriate support for your situation.
2. Behaviour Consultation
We'll explore your animal's history, environment, health considerations and behaviour to build a clear understanding of what's happening and why.
3. Personalised Recommendations
You'll receive practical, welfare-focused guidance and a tailored behaviour plan designed around your individual circumstances.
4. Ongoing Support
Behaviour change takes time. Follow-up support is available to help you implement recommendations, review progress and adjust the plan where needed.
REFERRALS WELCOME
Supporting behaviour and welfare often involves a team effort. Alongside working directly with caregivers, I regularly collaborate with veterinary professionals and rescue organisations to help animals experiencing behavioural and emotional challenges.
Referrals and enquiries from veterinary practices, rescues, foster networks and other animal care professionals are welcome.
“Lydia is compassionate and deeply knowledgeable about dog behaviour and what anxious and reactive dogs need to help them. Her support and care for Lady was an invaluable part of Lady's journey.”
